Story time theme: Halloween

Greetings!  This is our inaugural post and we are starting out with something spooky!  Every week we will post a story time theme–usually what we are talking about that week at the library.

The theme of our Halloween story time this week was “Just a Little Creepy!”

  • Who’s There on Halloween?  by Pamela Conn Bell & Susan Hagen Nipp  (great use of higher order thinking)
  • Big Bad Wolf by Claire Marshall (good for showing kids that not everything is scary)

Pre K:

  • The Hallo-Wiener by Dav Pilkey (a gentle reminder about not letting others bring you down)
  • BOO! by Robert Munsch (good, silly fun)
  • Poultrygeist by Mary Jane and Herm Auch (a tale about using our manners)

No craft this week!  We had a costume parade through the library!

This lesson plan is free and you have my permission to use it all you want.  I just ask that you give me a little love by crediting me on any blog or social media post.  Thank you!
