We’re back! Fall storytime kicked off this week and we got started with a name-themed storytime! This was a great way for us to get to know each other’s names!
- My Name is Elizabeth by Annika Dunklee and Matthew Forsythe (Elizabeth loves her name, but hates nicknames!)
- Josephina Hates Her Name by Diana Engel (This books explores why our names are special to us and why we should be proud of the names our parents picked for us.)
- Hello, My Name is Ruby by Philip C. Stead (A name is one of the first things we learn about someone else. This book explores why! )
“My Name is Special” Signs: This craft was for my toddlers who are just starting to learn how to spell their names. Their caregiver wrote their name on the paper and they got to pick stickers to decorate their page with!
Name Pom-Pom Signs: Most of my PreK kids can spell their name. They used glue to write their names and then attached pom-poms to them to decorate. They can take them home to hang on their bedroom doors!
This lesson plan is free and you have my permission to use it all you want. I just ask that you give me a little love by crediting me on any blog or social media post. Thank you!
