The Christmas Season in in full swing at the library! This week we added to the festivities with our annual Holiday Storytime.
- Mooseltoe by Margie Palatini (I love this story because it shows the lengths parents to through to give their kids a great Christmas!)
- Llama Llama Holiday Drama by Anna Dewdney (Adults and children alike relate to this book about the planning, prepping, and waiting surrounding the holidays.)
- If You Take a Mouse to the Movies by Laura Joffe Numeroff (Mouse is at it again as he goes about several Christmas tasks.)
- The Chicken Who Saved Christmas illustrated by Daniel Howarth (Ever wonder what happens when Santa is sick and the reindeer just don’t feel like getting out of bed?)
Candy Cane Pattern Pictures: The toddlers practiced their patterning skills by using red and white squares to make pictures of candy canes.
Jingle Bell Ornaments: The PreK group put the sparkle in our storytime by making these festive bell ornaments! First, I precut holes into a little plastic cup. Next you thread a pipe cleaner through a jingle bell and poke the ends through the top of the cup and twist the pipe cleaner to make the handle for hanging. Then the fun part! Cover the cup head to toe with a glue stick and sprinkle on shiny glitter! Sure, it makes a mess. But most things worth doing are messy!
This lesson plan is free and you have my permission to use it all you want. I just ask that you give me a little love by crediting me on any blog or social media post. Thank you!
