I had an easy week this week! My friends from our county health department came to do a special storytime with our kids about their dental health. Did you know that February is Dental Health month?
Books: The health department read their own, specially created book entitled The Lion Who Didn’t Brush His Teeth. After reading, they had a prize wheel that the kids got to spin. Each spin landed on a question about dental health (for example: how many times a day should you brush your teeth?) which lead to an open dialogue and good dental practices.
Toothy Bag Puppets: Using the template below (which I found via Teacher’s Friend) the kids glued the parts of the tooth onto a paper bag.
To add pizazz while working on our fine motor skills, we used these marker stamps.
I actually did not have any songs this week. We did end up singing “This Is The Way I Brush My Teeth,” but I did not make a poster for it.
This lesson plan is free and you have my permission to use it all you want. I just ask that you give me a little love by crediting me on any blog or social media post. Thank you!
