Storytime Theme: I Like to Share

Sharing. The single hardest thing for a human to learn—besides patience.  In theory, it is so easy!  But in practice, so very hard.  Even for adults!

Books:

  • Let’s Share by Dana Meachen Rau
  • It’s Mine by Gina and Mercer Mayer
  • We Share Everything! by Robert Munsch
  • Llama Llama Time to Share by Anna Dewdney

Share Bears:  This is a relatively simple craft with a big payoff!  Use a brown paper lunch bag and draw a simple bear face on the front.  Cut out on opening for his mouth.  Cut out two ears and glue on.  Then the payoff!  I gave the kids a bag of Goldfish Crackers with the instructions to share some with their bear friends (some for them—some for a friend).  This was a practical and delicious way to demonstrate and practice sharing!

Songs/Fingerplays:
